Illinois Environmental News Update

Here’s your Illinois environmental news update for this morning from across the internet:

(1) Clean Line Energy’s project, which will connect 3,500 megawatts of wind turbine generated power from wind farms in other states to communities in Illinois, faces resistance from northern La Salle County property owners. http://www.newstrib.com/articles/news/nci/default.asp?article=31144&aname=Residents+against+’green’+power+line+project

(2) The North Shore Sanitary District plans new underground sewage-storage basin at Sunrise Beach in Lake Bluff to contain excess sewage that would otherwise enter into Lake Michigan when severe weather either impacts ComEd’s ability to deliver power to NSSD’s pumps or the pumping station’s back-up pumps are unable to meet the surge of sewage. http://gazebonews.com/2011/12/08/nssd-proposing-new-sewage-basin-at-sunrise-beach/
