Visit to the Green Car and Technology Show

I recently spent a few hours with my family at the Green Car and Technology Show at the Naperville Auto Test Track, which was sponsored by Congresswoman Judy Biggert.  The event was designed “to give you a glimpse of the direction we’re heading in advanced automotive technology and energy efficiency.”

Exhibitors at the show included Argonne National Laboratory, Carbon Day Automotive, Chevrolet of Naperville, Continental Acura of Naperville, Continental Audi of Naperville, Continental Mazda of Naperville, DuPage Children’s Museum, Gerald Nissan, Lewis University, Lexus of Naperville, Museum of Science and Industry, Navistar (eStar), Packer Engineering, Pioneer Conversions, Tesla Motors of Chicago, Toyota of Naperville, UPS, and Waubonsee Community College.

The public was invited to look at and test drive hybrid and electric vehicles, including the Nissan Leaf.  It was a pretty interesting show.  I hope that it gave people a good idea of the “green” and fuel-efficient options that are available.  If you are looking to purchase a new or even a used car in the near future, I urge you to consider either a hybrid or an electric vehicle.  I personally have a Toyota Highlander Hybrid, and my family loves it.

Along with the vehicle exhibitors, other exhibitors, such as the U.S. Green Building Council, provided sustainability resources.  Here are some photos from our visit to the show:
