There were two interesting news stories that I wanted to pass along:
(1) Naperville for Clean Energy and Conservation (NCEC) launched its first Eco-Family Photo Contest through Aug. 1. More than $50,000 in prizes will be awarded to residents who submit images of their environmentally-conscious efforts. Click here for the article about the contest; click here for NCEC’s website to enter the contest.
(2) New Trier High School is receiving an Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation grant that will fund the installation of a wind turbine at the school’s Northfield Campus. The ICECF agreed to pay 90 percent of the cost or up to $20,000, whichever is less. Click here for the article about the grant.
