Governor Quinn Appoints New Member of Illinois Pollution Control Board

As the Chicago Tribune recently reported, Governor Pat Quinn appointed attorney Jennifer Burke to the Illinois Pollution Control Board.  Although the Tribune (and other media outlets) have tried to paint this as a purely political appointment, Ms. Burke is clearly qualified to serve.

Ms. Burke was sworn-in as an attorney in 1995 (see ARDC website).  Most recently, she practiced environmental law for the City of Chicago.  Prior to working for the city, she was a partner in the environmental practice group of the well-known law firm of Jenner & Block LLP.

Ms. Burke is a welcome addition to the IPCB, and I wish her all the best.
