Illinois Environmental News Update

(1) Settlement of lawsuit against Metropolitan Water Reclamation District formalizes deadlines to finish sections of the Deep Tunnel, but the entire system will not be completed until 2029.,0,5608661.story

(2) U.S. EPA has agreed to hook up certain Rockford residences to the city water supply in the wake of finding benzene contaminated wells in the area.

(3) Village Board of Glen Carbon, Illinois votes to increase incentives in its redevelopment agreement with THF Center Grove Development, which will have to do mine remediation in order to build a Sam’s Club.
